Tout a commencé le jour où ma fille a reçu un petit livre Disney qui, en 5 doubles pages cartonnées, racontait l'histoire de Cendrillon. Alors Cendrillon, elle est bien gentille, mais j'ai quelques objections à ce conte intemporel:
- Cendrillon n'a pas de prénom, juste un surnom
- Cendrillon essaie d'aller au bal mais lorsque ses soeur détruisent sa robe, c'est sa marraine la fée qui la sauve
- Cendrillon tombe amoureuse du Prince, et vice-versa, sans échanger une parole
- Cendrillon est délicate
- Cendrillon est soumise
Bref, Cendrillon c'est exactement le contraire du message que je veux faire passer à ma fille de quatre ans. J'ai donc improvisé pour faire en sorte que la magie soit bannie, mais que la force de caractère soit présente dans cette histoire.
Je suis donc en train de coucher sur le papier ma version moderne de Cendrillon. Ce n'est pas très long, et demain, ce sera en ligne!
It all began when my almost 4 yo daughter got a Disney booklet about Cinderella. Cinderella's nice, all right, my there are a number of issues with her story that are bothering me:
- Cinderella doesn't have a real name, just a nickname
- Cinderella tries very hard to go to the bal, but despite her best efforts, she cannot go until magic rescues her
- Cinderella and the Pricne fall in love without even saying anything to each other
- Cinderella is delicate and submissive
In a nutshell, all of this goes in the exact opposite direction to the way I try to raise my daughter. So I improvised and made Cinderella a self-made young woman. in my story, there is no magic, but lots of ingeniosity and talking.
I am currently writting my own modern version of Cinderella. The French version is ready, and you'll have to wait a little more for its English translation - but it will come!
